fleeting

to vividly picture the first time we met
a fleeting moment, instantaneous
of just three seconds

we were never introduced
we led separate lives
we knew not much, but
we knew one another, all along :)

you were loved. by many. compared to them, i am a speck of nothingness. forgive my reservations. but you do know me well enough, more so than anyone could have imagined, and you know how much you mean to me. rest in peace.

la dolce vita

1. happiness is the biggest 'fuck u' we can give

2. what makes one happy?
trust.

3. happiness is relative. it's unwise to compare lives.
give yourself a break once in a while.

agree.disagree.

for some
the free market is a religion.

in parallel
organised religion is capitalism at its best.
(it has, naturally, a large consumer base)

not that there's anything wrong with capitalism. but i must say, i find it so ironic that the very pioneers of the free market economy were led to buy out ('nationalize'?) various (allegedly) private financial institutions. karl marx would have felt so amused.

i'm not taking any sides here. i don't know near enough to do so, yet certain organizations scare the shit out of me for some reason.

p.s. please watch all these videos.

in case you were not aware of

besides the candidate debates, wall street bailout, ramadhan and pakistan terror attacks, the past few weeks is fashion week. the mood seemed sombre in the fashion capitals; color pallette was kept mainly monochromatic, nothing truly outrageous came out. but a few things caught my attention.

stefano pilati for YSL
(note the fitting tribute to le smoking. a simple collection,
but very beautiful in my eyes)

dries van noten
(pattern composition)

yohji yamamoto
(superb avant garde contsruction)

prada
(not as good as before, but intriguing still)

uni is starting again. sigh. i'll be out of comission for a month.

on palin

i was watching through sarah palin's interviews and concluded that she's an idiot. think about it: she might be president one day. does the world really need an american president who thinks 'the war against terror' is a 'task from god' (read: holy war), openly talks about 'spreading democracy' (read: more war) to those who want it, and whose idea of foreign policy is seeing russia from her backyard? as a stereotypical american with no idea of what goes on in the rest of the world, the woman fits the bill perfectly, unfortunately. the least she could do is pretend to show some respect when it comes to talking about other countries.

thank god for palin (until she gets elected), we have good television.

edit:

the vp candidate debate just passed. FOX is trying very hard to precondition the americans to think that senator palin actually did great in the debate. what the fuck. i have many more words, but they are better left unsaid.
