magic trick

we lie to ourselves all the time.

however, is it just me, (and i'm probably being unreasonably judgmental here) or do women lie to themselves all the time when it comes to who they really love? not that this scenario occurs exclusively to the other sex, yet it appears more prevalent among women. i have met a select few men and women whose love i believe are truly genuine. sometimes you can't help but sense a strange feeling, that something is amiss; and it may be that the 'love' is a little forced.

just a thought. now you feminists may crucify me.

i'd say sometimes we're more blind than anything else. or we settle for something less, or the whole thing changes and love becomes...??

a feminist I am, I had to agree at some point.

but for female's sake (hehehe), I guess what women want most is security. its not just falling in love. men can fall in love and not worry of feeling secure becos at any point, they can make a choice.

for women, there's a lot at risk. so, some hold back, as in your words 'the love is a little forced'. becos, if they fall in love entirely, they're vulnerable to lose themselves completely. thus, they're no longer secured of anything. not even faith in the future. if things didn't go well, bad stuff will happen, like REALLY BAD stuff ...

so thats my psychoanalysis on the subject.

its better to lie. becos the truth hurts. and for someone so fragile, when the painful truth comes, it can be fatal. thus, lying is the only option to save one's life.

yeah, i think we lie to ourselves all the damn time when it involves the opposite sex.

it's probably a hobby none of us are conscious of.

hang on, i'm not yet a woman, HAHA.

wait, wait, I'm a bit confused here. What exactly do you mean by 'lying?' As in like, if you see a woman and man getting all lovey dovey, you sense they're putting up an act? Is that it?

Or is this post simply targeting on women being the in-denial bunch?

just curious.

Well, I think women can be more superficial. Or perhaps women are more in love with the idea of love.

Damn English lit and Twelfth Night (the idea of being in love with the idea of love was a recurring theme).

Maybe it's just that you're not allowed to love more than one person! LOL! As "civilized" humans we have made up a whole bunch of social rules and norms that we're meant to follow, it's just the fact of the matter. It's hard to see things any other way and so we have to justify everything we feel. If the love is a little forced, there could be so many reasons for it. All points are valid, and all points are moot. Complicated, isn't it? :)
